Bulacan Bags Most Business Friendly LGU Award
The province of Bulacan was selected the Most Business-Friendly Province by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the 30th Philippine Business Conference held at the Manila Hotel last Octover 6, 2004. Bulacan Governor Josie M. dela Cruz, received the award from Pres. Gloria M. Arroyo and the officers of the PCCi led by its President Noemi L. Saludo.
The BCCI nominated the province for its continuing support to the development of a conducive business climate. Bulacan bested other nominated provinces on the areas of investment and tourism promotion programs, regular consultation with the private sector, and inter-local government relations.
The Governor was ecstatic about this new feather on the cap of her administration. Her program of government balances the need for social services and business promotion. Her economic agenda staunchly supports the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the province. She believes that this is a better alternative than attracting big named-businesses that will just make mere employees of her constituents. Gov. Josie prefers entrepreneurship to employment.
Among her distinct program for SME development is launching of the Tatak Bulakenyo products.
